Re: Incorrect voltage reading from bench supply

I used to teach some of this electronics stuff (and Computer Science) which is why / how I know.
I'm not into running an on-line tutorial, but for the odd one off answer, ask away.

Re: Yorkshire Lunch Meetings 2017 review

Hi Chaps, Tempting though it is, to extend the scope geographically of our “Meet us in Yorkshire” meetings, I'd rather not. Mike, just post the dates (and times) for a couple in North Lincs yourself, and start it from there. Just don't pick the 3rd Tuesday (The Yorkshire Date) and see who turns up. ...

Re: Yorkshire Lunch Meetings 2017 review

Keep the suggestions going people.
No rush.

One extra question I should have asked in my original post, is :-
Do we still want to continue with the weekend events ?

I'll sum up the many opinions at the end of the month.

Re: Gone and done it ...

Nice looking bike Phil....after a few months what are your thoughts...?? For the sort of riding I mainly do It's fine. (Quiet A roads, Good B roads, and a lot of minor roads) It isn't a motorway or dual carriageway bike at all. Still wish I could soften the front suspension a bit, but the forks are...

Re: Yorkshire Lunch Meetings 2017 review

Thanks for the input, but aren't Grindleford, Monyash and Eyam all in Derbyshire ?

I was thinking of something in the Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster area.

Re: 2005 R1200GS ABS modulator

r75boxer said :- So, according to the mechanic, who took the bike out for a good run, the 1150s have a different setup that result in only 60% braking (so-called residual braking) when the ABS fails. The 1200s revert to non-ABS too but with 100% braking. My experience of the "Residual Braking" is t...

Yorkshire Lunch Meetings 2017 review

Well people,

I'm back from my bit of winter sun (Been to the Algarve for a week.)
Time to review this years meetings and consider new places for 2018.

Any we want to drop ?
Any suggestions of new venues ?
Any parts of Yorkshire we seem to have missed out ?

Comments invited.

Re: 2005 R1200GS ABS modulator

I used to have an '03 plate R1150R with the servo ABS.
Let me just tell you, that when the modulator fails, the "Residual" braking is virtually useless.
If it fails whilst you are riding, it leads to the biggest "Ohh Sh*t" moment you have ever had.

I speak from bitter personal experience.
