Re: vibrations

Hi Pete, welcome. I had the 2001 11500rt. Its a single spark and prone to some vibes, also surging. Mine was improved by throttle balancing, quite critical on this model.2003 brought along the twin spark which improved things. As Steve said, lots on these in the oil-head section. They are great bike...

Re: Urgent hot cranking problem

A few years back there were a number BMWs suffering from 'sudden battery death'. Seemingly good batteries that started the bike, out for a ride and subsequently failing to start the machine. Perhaps yours is on the failure curve? Hope the new battery sorts it out. At least it will come ready charge...

Re: K75 stiff throttle

Hi Simon, not on a K75 but my 1200RT. I had to put a thin spacer on the bolt holding the handle bar weight on. (inside the weight).
I dont know why it tightened up, but its ok now.

Re: Rt1200 rear wheel bearing

Hi, on my MOT last year they flagged up slight play in the rear wheel bearing. But said 'they all have it'. It would need doing eventually, but not this year. How much play did yours have?

This was my 1150RT with the taller screen. Worked well.except a slight distortion through the curve at the top.

Re: Helmet wind noise

This is mine (s.w.m.b.o modelling!) with a taller screen ( 4" ) It definitely improves things, but with the extra curve you have to be careful not to fully retract it or it hits the fairing.I'm 6.5 as well. Got mine I think from MOTOWORKS HOLMFIRTH

Re: Helmet wind noise

Hi, I had an 01 1150rt.Being a bit tall I couldn't get rid of the noise and buffet, and eventually went for a higher screen which sorted it out.

Hi, not familiar with your bike. However, could it be a side stand switch issue?

Red triangle plus the ABS light - ABS warning indicator defective. red triangle plus ABS flashes once per second, ABS not available. Red triangle plus ABS flashes 4 times a seco...

Re: ALDI Motorcycle Gear 2014 - Preview/Review

Thanks for the heads up Ced.My first Jacket was Aldis and was ok for a while. My need for less bulk and more pockets grew and I eventually ended up with Hein Gerricks. Its a shame the jeans in the review only go up to 38!

Throttle has been sticking open with the heated grips on. Removed the weight and fitted a spacing washer, looks like a result! Thanks to those who posted the tip.

Heated Grip Q.

Hi, 2005 1200 RT, Right hand heated grip slowly tightens/stiffens the throttle when turned on.Acts like an unrequested cruise control! Anyone experience this or heard of it happening. Ideas please for a cure.
Thanks. Brian :-k
