tiny wee springs

hello, can I pick your brain please? on trying, without success to adapt some wind deflector/ hand guard type things to fit my 1998 K 1200 Rs earlier today, I had both clutch and brake levers off the machine at one point, on going to replace them later I realised that I had lost the 2 tiny wee spring things from inside the brake lever............... what are they for? and also do I need to replace them? and if so where on earth do I get them? I best not pull things apart obviously

They are there for a reason so yes you need them and I would start with Motorworks or Real OEM

If it's the small springs in the adjusting mechanism (for adjusting the distance between the lever and the handlebar)
they isn't sold as single parts.....you need to buy a complete lever.

I think that the wee springs might be the detent springs for the 'lever to bar' distance adjustment which is set by the adjustable disk on top of the lever.
If so, there may also be a wee detent ball bearing to work with the spring against the adjustment disk.
The detent spring and ball would provide positive indexing of the 'lever to bar' distance adjustment disk and lock the adjustment in the set position.
Without the springs, the adjustment would be free to change with vibration etc.

The wee compression springs might be obtained as below.

See the link below for an Ebay spring kit and mouse over the lid label so that you can see what sizes of compression springs are in the kit and whether they might do the job.
Measure the spring seating hole diameter in the lever to find the required spring outside diameter (OD).
Finding the correct length may be trial and error - you may be able to cut an over-length spring or check size from another bike with similar levers.

The wee balls might be obtained in the same manner if required.
Someone on the forum has got a stash of the detent balls as used in the electrical switches on BMW bikes which might suit.

powerful magnet om a string and "sweep" the floor with it?

Try salvage yards you may find a dealer with a broken lever who may be interested in selling you the bits-- or may sell your levers on for you.

Are you changing the levers to something completely different, in which case the springs may not matter

I wasn't changing the levers George, I took them off in a futile attempt to fit handguard wind deflector type things I had kicking around, upon reassembly I thought oh bugger, bits missing Davey lad. Thanks to all who responded, I have a lever en route from E-bay.Did a couple of hundred miles today and never noticed any difference tbh, but best have it as it should be.
