R80rt Mono - Kyoto discs?

Postby matelotmark » Thu Aug 31, 2017 8:41 pm

Has anyone fitted Kyoto discs to an R80RT mono? Mines a 93 model and I'm tempted by the price compared to EBC. Means fitting them to the existing carrier, but seems easy enough. I'd be interested to hear any feedback from anyone who has done this conversion. Thanks in advance folks.

"Just finished fitting Kyoto disc rotors to my 1993 R80RT. You have to remove the old rotors from the carriers by grinding the heads off and tapping the rivets through. The new rotors then bolt on using the bobbins and fittings supplied. Road test was good. Stops, and no noise or judder. Time will tell, but pleased with the result for £75 each instead of twice that for other types." Took this from Airheads BMW Motorcycle Riders on Facebook from a contributor called Mark Robbins.
