Hi Warner,

Thanks for using the coloured font method of response - it makes it much easier for my old brain to remember what is going on!

Very pleased to hear that you have now got the bike running.

I would think twice about fitting an in-line fuel filter - a lot of these restrict the fuel flow too much when used on gravity-fed fuel systems.
I think 'Windmill John' posted about this a while ago.

Enjoy the bike - you're doing a great thing by keeping these old bikes running!

Hello Ced and Warner,
glad the Condor is now Sparking. I would like to clarify a point Ced made about the Capacitor function.
My training in these matters was that it was there to prolong the life of the points by reducing the sparking at the points and no other function.

Hi Bob,

Yes, that is another important function of the Capacitor.

It also forms a Series Resonant circuit with the HT Coil Primary winding which increases the energy of the spark.

I can try and find the reference for this if you wish! :-k

LATER EDIT:
Here's a couple of references Bob:
".....As well as suppressing arcing, it helps boost the coil output by creating a resonant LC circuit with the coil windings."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contact_b ... prov=sfsi1

"....With no capacitor at all, not only does severe arcing take place at the points but more importantly even with new points the primary and secondary voltages are severely reduced. "

Thanks Ced, for the enlighting links.
It's amazing how you get told part of the of the reason for things being fitted to internal combustion engines.
