importing 1978 R100 RS to Spain

Postby Busby » Tue Apr 25, 2017 3:18 pm

Hi Cutting short a long story, I wonder if anybody has experience of this matter? The process is not that different from the UK importation rules, except that I'm dealing with the Spanish. To get the final paperwork, I have to establish that R100RS's were sold in Spain and they were accepted as homologated by Spain. For this I need a certificate from an authorised body such as IDIADA to confirm this! IDIADA say, that they cannot confirm my vehicle VIN with the units sold in Spain! No they won't because mine comes from Belgium! What does the PVA No stamped below the Chassis number refer to mine reads 65.314?

you may have to get an oficial BMW homologacion certificate from BMW for your model and year that state the Countries that it was homologated all of this intended that in the end you have to go to idiada to have an engineers report made etc etc basically MONEY .i had a very similar problem with a ROLLS Imported from USA for my boss in the end IDIADA for the engineers report etc etc and the a HISTORIC veh.registration number

Best roads: 623 Burgos to Santander. A back road to Metz; can't remember which!
Schorsch 1978-80 R65 - bit of a Shetland pony; frisky and naughty.
Friedrich 1993 R80RT - a Percheron, but can still mix it with the rest.

You should raise a new thread for this query in the Hexhead Q&A section.

However, try disconnecting the Battery earth terminal for about 5 minutes and then re-connect it again in case something has glitched in the electronics.
