The Faroe Islands

Here's an unusual place to visit on your bike - not sure if Scott [pirate] and Lolo went there.
I believe you have to get the ferry from Denmark:

No, Scott & Lolo didn't make it to there.

I, along with a few friends spent a wonderful week touring the islands on the bike back in '95. It was easier to get to back then as a very small ferry ran from Aberdeen to Torshaven.

Oooo that video brings back happy memories

We didnt get off the ferry at the small islands!

At the time we rode to Iceland there were only two ferries, one which stopped at Faroe to let people on and off on the way to Iceland and one which stopped at faroe and didnt come back for 7 days. It sort of did a weird figure of 8. If we had got off we would have had to stay there for 7 days and then sail back to denmark and wait 7 days to sail to iceland again. Im not sure if that has changed?

We got to see the small islands from the ferry only. We did sail through and around the little islands.

Amazing place BUT Iceland was one of my favaourite places ever it was so magnificently stark and beautiful at the same time. Great place to ride but unlike the faroe islands which have lovely roads (not sure if they did when Phil rode there?) Iceland it mostly gravel and off roading.

I road my bike to a glacia and saw blue icebergs cant get much more exciting than that!!!! would recommend it to everyone

Hi Phil,

That's a great write-up on your trip to the Faroes!

Hi Lolo,

Well you couldn't get much closer to the Faroes than that!

At least you can say you passed by the Faroes with your bikes! \:D/
