Parts not on RealOEM

Postby george baker » Mon Apr 09, 2018 1:16 pm

Hi
Peter kindly gave me a pair of crashbars from a K1100LT, they look like the K75 bar on realOEM but the part number on the left one is not available, 46 71 2 315568

46712315561 LEFT ENGINE PROTECTION BAR
Part 46712315561 was found on the following vehicles:
K589 (K1, K 100 RS)   (03/1989 — 06/1992)
K589 (K 1100 RS, K 1100 LT)   (06/1989 — 04/1999)
K589 (K100, RS, RT, LT)   (05/1982 — 10/1991) is--

I can not find the number on the right one-
EDIT
-I gave it a scrub and the number is 46712315 553

Oddly no Right side K11LT crash bars were on the page I checked

Anyone know how to find parts not listed on RealOEM please?

Hi,
I checked the MaxBMW fiche ( https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/PartsFiche.aspx ) and it lists the engine bar set as 46 71 2 316 371, the left bar as 46712315561 superseded by 46712315565 and the right bar as 46 71 2 315 566.
Hope that helps.
Ian.

Hi
thanks Ian.

Anyone know why do BMW supersede a part like a crash bar? Shirley it can not be upgraded or improved?

Perhaps ran out of stock and got a different contractor to make them or altered the design.. who knows.
...and don't call me Shirley!
