Does your F800s engine still cut out after several fixes?

Postby Alex Worrall » Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:58 pm

Mine has since I bought it. I love riding it and it normally only cuts out when I decelerate off the motorway and into a roundabout. However last night it started cutting out when changing from 5th up to 6th. Absolutely lethal in the dark with cars driving fast behind you.

It also cut out on a country road and I came off. The love affair is over, it's too dangerous to ride. It's sad because I have taken it down to Portugal and Barcelona.

Does anyone else with the same problem want to make an official complaint to BMW?

Happy and safe riding.
Best,
Alex

No problems with mine. What has your dealer said about it?

It does seem that BMW use customers as the research and development dep't.

Interesting in that you had it cut out on a gear change. I keep getting 'landed' with duff gear position potentiometers, they fit on all sorts of new-type models. I can't tell you for sure if this is your problem though.

Ey-up Spot. Got home ok then? No problem's my end apart from my right glove splitting on a seam letting the liner stuffing out and the freezing fog in. In cloud on top of Holm Moss, very cold. Not as a pleasant ride as Saturday's.
I like bikes. Old bikes mainly. And a few other things.
