The new pound coin

Postby Teetwothousand » Sun Apr 16, 2017 4:56 pm

I got a new shaped pound coin in my change today - I was told that it is now shaped that way so you can get a spanner on it to remove it from a Yorkshiremans pocket

If you spend a £2 coin to buy a cup of tea for 40 pence you might get one in your change.

You need a special long handled spanner as Yorkshiremen have very deep pockets.

When we visited Russia in 1983 the old £1 coin had just been issued. I took new ones to spend in the tourist shops and hotel bars.
After some initial 'tooth testing' of the coins ( they looked like Gold) by various Russians they went crazy for them.

I bought my R80 from Lincolnshire not too long ago and had to pay in groats. You'll be waiting a long time before YOU see the new coin.......

Best roads: 623 Burgos to Santander. A back road to Metz; can't remember which!
Schorsch 1978-80 R65 - bit of a Shetland pony; frisky and naughty.
Friedrich 1993 R80RT - a Percheron, but can still mix it with the rest.
