Good point Max, but not what the OP had done.

If I’d known this was a test, I’d have looked at every possibilty of running an OS from a mobile device

I did run web browsing totally from a pen drive just out of interest once, but as I’m not a pervert, terrorist or Mossad, didn’t carry it on

Schorsch 1978-80 R65 - bit of a Shetland pony; frisky and naughty.
Friedrich 1993 R80RT - a Percheron, but can still mix it with the rest.

Politely you got it wrong.
It sound like Barry replaced his normal hdd with a ssd.

You can install win 10 from a USB but you are installing to an hdd or ssd
What I did was keep my hdd and removed the cd drive. My ssd is "c" drive with the windows 10 installed and my hdd is now "d" drive which has all my downloads, pictures and other software etc on. This way if I get any virus it will only be on my hdd which can be wiped clean without loosing my op system. My pictures are also backed up to a ext/hdd. If at any time I require a cd drive I have a external one which runs from a usb port.
I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

Barry the old goat!!!!
