My Woodland - A Walk Through

Postby boxerman » Wed Oct 25, 2017 10:04 pm

As promised here's a walk through video of my woods. Most paths and the majority of the clearing have been hand cleared.

Great video Phil, it is a good mixed area for the animals. Are you going to build yourself a small shelter/hide to watch them from.
I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

What a peaceful haven - I could sit there all day!

Have you considered introducing hedgehogs into the woodland?

True, Jay but you also need to be able to remove it in one piece and that isn't an option without felling a lot of trees. If that had been viable I'd have got a tiny caravan. I can barely wriggle an old lawn tractor without deck into the place.

Hadn't thought of it, Ced but I'm introducing absolutely nothing either animal, vegetable or mineral until at least a year has passed as I have little idea of what's currently there and I'd don't want to alter the ecological balance.

Hi
are you seeing any fungi Phil? A guided city park walk last week saw over 2 dozen within 2 hours. They included "funeral bell" and an almost identical looking edible species.

Most are over now, George but they've appeared everywhere. Was to busy to take time this year trying to ID them tho.
