Hello All

Postby AlanR80 » Sun Dec 10, 2017 12:14 pm

Hello All,

Just to introduce myself as Alan from Staffordshire (will be a R80 owner again soon). I used to have a BMW R80 but regrettably sold it 2 years ago for a Ducati Hypermotard, not sure what I was thinking of at the time (must of been a midlife crises). Anyway I am now back to normal and got rid of the Ducati, so I am now in pursuit of another R80 that probably requires some TLC as I don't mind getting my hands dirty. My last R80 was a barn find and learnt a fair bit from it.

Thanks Alan

Hi Alan,
I occasionally thought do I sell my 65 and 80 to get a newer bike..... why!?
The only reason I can think of is a lighter clutch on the 65... maybe a lighter bike....
As I don’t need variable inlet tracks, traction control, different power modes, tiny mudguards etc. I’ll stick

Welcome back to the fold.

Welcome to the forum Alan. Mid life crises can be hard (I ended up with 2 Harleys) But I still like my old airheads. Check out ebay as there are some R80 on there which have not been stripped yet.
I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.
