Who's who and where?
I may have missed this but does the forum have a list of members and where they are located? I see there are some Lancs and other northish events but I was just wondering where people came from and what bikes they have. I assume these details will have been part of membership application.

Re: Who's who and where?
Some put an indication of location in their profile as you have done. Good enough I would of thought. Some put a stable list in their signature.
It would be nice to have a help at hand register, I guess some might not wish to disclose their exact location, and I don't blame them.
Why not get up to the Lancashire meet at Haslingden, then you might realise you don't want us visiting.

Re: Who's who and where?
Good point. Tango. I was merely thinking of local riders who may want a ride out or chats about their bikes over a brew, now we at last see some sun.

Re: Who's who and where?
When things get going again, quite often people start a thread in any one want to join me section. works quite well, and you would be most welcome to join in. Most of the meets are better supported in the north of England and Scotland don't know why, it's just like that at the moment.
Have you considered joining us on 10th April, at Cosford not far from you. details in the events section. Some of us will be stopping overnight Sunday so you could join us on Sunday PM if you can't make the Monday.

I did indeed, but unfortunately (or not) my daughter and I are on a Nile cruise and we fly on the 10th. Typical when the meet is so close to me, too.

Re: Who's who and where?
Hi
a button to the forum members list is at the bottom of the page memberlist.php but no location info.
Like Tango says, some people put their location in their profile, it helps us give local information and I sometimes use it if I send out to let people know what is going on
Paying members have access to an "assistance list" which have rough locations, (Like mine, NorthManchester) and one of the fields in it is a "Tea & chat" marker. I have never used it to set up a meet, I just use the "Anyone want to join me" forum

Re: Who's who and where?
Hi
I can not remember where the list is but will try to look for you. I "think" you find it through a "members Only" forum, but can't say I have looked in years.
The "anyone... me" topic is cleared automatically, I think 14 days after the inital post, so that only current post are available

The assistance list can be found on the members website but no-one appears to have updated for a long time

Me? I'm in Glossop in the Peak District and always available as a stop off or a starting point. I expect that as the group grows we may become more and more interactive, but it seems that things are beginning to grow. Maybe regional sub groups need to grow, just a thunk

Hi
yes
Plenty of us want to play out but are too busy to set it up
The first stage is to share some locations, maybe we need a thread?
Nick told me about a place on the A58 last week between Skipton and Clitheroe, maybe that should be the first place on a new thread
George
yes
each of you need to find a place you like going to, a date you are free to go there and then -- post on "anyone want to join me"regional sub groups need to grow

Re: Who's who and where?
Ah. Where people are located. Like I suggested in the first post of this thread? I think the Assistance list updated would be a start although that would only include paid up members. If you are Manchester George, then something mid way or triangulated between Derbyshire, Midlands and Lancs. A sub group would need a core of maybe half a dozen to be viable I would suggest. Has an AGM ever taken place?

Re: Who's who and where?
Indeed, it would be great to have regular 6+ members at meets but historically this generally does not happen.
An AGM would be difficult to site as members are spread over the whole of the UK.
I agree that the members assistance list needs to be updated, as also the need for more volunteers to help run proposed events, we still require a sponsor for the Northern Meets St Mary's Loch event ( 2nd Wed each month Apr-Oct)
Regards
Keith

Re: Who's who and where?
No, an AGM has never taken place. When rules were being put together prior to the launch of the club it was discussed at great length and the unanimous decision was that they would not be held. It was felt to be unnecessary as any member issues could easily be raised within the Members only area and, so long as the committee did their duty and discussed any raised issues properly there was no need for extremely expensive physical meetings.

Re: Who's who and where?
I was thinking maybe the weekend on occasion. My IAM group has a half day ride and full day ride once a month, but then again they are probably less spread so a rendezvous is more easily managed. Leek would be somewhere of a mid point?

Let's see, My bike has been taken to my trusted bike mechanic for a once over and set up. Hopefully nothing more. His loan bike is a 650GS. Rubbish small bike after a ride home.

G650GS. To be fair it isn't that bad, it just seemed tiny compared to the 1100 and full of vibrations. I shouldn't moan. It saves me having to sort lifts out etc.
