Went on the Nottingham egg run yesterday morning, 900+ bikes and 3000 eggs for local children. In the afternoon went for a ride around some lovely Nottinghamshire lanes avoiding Sunday traffic.

I always thought the cat referred to was the cat 'o' nine tails used for punishment so it's good to learn something new.

Was well ahead at work so took Thursday afternoon off, what to do ? Ride my XJR to the Ace Cafe on the North Circular to attend the month XJR meet I decided. Set off at 2:35 pm. Some surprised and happy faces when I got off the bike. burger and chips and a couple of coffees later I was on the road home. 440 miles round trip and in bed for midnight

Finally got wheels back into the bike after rebuild and polish, started her up ( she being a '77 R80/7 ) right carb peeing petrol, think it's sorted with bit of gentle use of mallet.Got her ticking over nicely and ready for maiden ride and heavens open.Bought the R80 in late February and yet to ride it,looking forward to some good summer rides on her, forecast looking good for weekend.
Mum,when I grow up I want to be a biker.
Well son you'll have to make a decision.......you can't do both.

I just ordered a stainless brake hose kit for my un-ABS'd r1100r. I have an idea I will be short a piece of hard line, for the rear hose, but I will see what turns up next week. Maybe I can make the hard line piece up, I have numerous brake hose fittings, steel pipe, swager etc.

I left her in the shed today when I went for a joy ride, 40 miles, took the Bandit instead.

Just one good thing to come from the monsoon we've just had here is that it will have cleaned the road filth off my bike in the car park

Not good news Bruce, hope the situation improves quickly.

Sell or store? too many variables for a straightforward answer.

Oh no Mate. thats bloody awful news, was it on the cards as far as you knew ? Gutted for ya Mate, but, at least they haven't said "end of", i.e. forever. If she's a keeper, sorn it (and don't forget to sorn it every year, if not, sell it now and put the money into premium bonds for now, more chance of getting a return than a bank

Hope the pain is managable ](*,)

Haven't got time to give her the beauty treatment this weekend and she was a 'tad' mucky after yesterdays rain so I took her to the local hand car wash and they gave her a good clean with direction and guidance from me, great job
