Sorry but.....................

Postby STrider » Mon Apr 18, 2016 12:26 pm

Sorry guys (and girls)

I've decided that my biking days have come to an end and my bike will be up for sale at my dealers before long. Whilst I was one of the founder members of the club over the past few years I've been pretty conspicuous in my absence in the latter years. I knew, once I'd sold all but one of my bikes back in 2011 to make way for a Morgan that the rot had set in! The past three years I've just used the bike for an annual trip up to Scotland camping and thats been virtually it. The car gets a lot more the extent that I now work for them part time! Last year I very badly broke an ankle which laid me up from driving and riding for nearly six months and I've gone and fractured it again whilst away on holiday. For some reason it makes me feel vulnerable on a bike and that affects my riding. So.......thats it :???:

I won't be renewing my membership this year but I wish you all and the club all the very best for the future.

Hi John,

Likewise I am sorry to hear that.

Thanks for all your time and effort given to support the Club from the beginning and for your posts helping to make this site one of the best going.

Good luck with the Morgan - I have always had a soft spot for the original classic 3-wheeeler Morgan but they cost a fortune now!

All the best,

R1100RT 1996.

Hi John,

As others have said, sorry to hear of your problem.

I too have a sports car (Lotus Elise) that gets used more than I thought when I bought it,
But I'm still finding time and enthusiasm for the bikes (for now anyway).

Good luck for the future.

Sorry to read this. I guess many of us on here wonder how we will face that choice and when. Good luck. No reason to be a complete stranger. Thanks for all past work.

Very sorry to hear that, John - you'll be missed and you were a valuable source of help in the early days of getting both the forum and the club off the ground. Try and find time to dip a toe in here every now and again - once every six months will be enough to prevent your account being closed.

I agree entirely with all of that.
60 years ago I thought that there wouldn't be any more motorcycles for me, so I bought a 'poor man's Morgan', a BSA 3 wheeler (AVK 400) to start my courtship with my wife.
The BSA was eventually sold and through sheer necessity I was back on the road with 2 wheels till the present day.
I've now downsized bikes twice in recent years and I would have no qualms about another 3 wheeler.
But NOT yet please!
