Hooton September

Postby george baker » Wed Jun 15, 2016 6:41 am

Hi
we are holding an invite to Hooton Park Trust http://www.hootonparktrust.co.uk/ in Ellesmere Port, CH65 1BQ to camp Saturday night and display the bikes on Sunday 18th September

It will be BASIC but could be FUN.

I have provisionally told the organiser I will go, anyone want to join me?

I will start to try to make it an official event if there is enough interest

Hi
the camping is only the Saturday night so you would need to set off home after the event or stay at my place in Manchester unless you book in to somewhere on the way back

Hi
no, buses, planes, cars, bikes, I plan that we will exhibit anything that shows up-- and call it the "Historic Timeline"?

It may be worth mentioning that about 5 miles from Hooton Park there is the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet:

http://www.mcarthurglen.com/uk/cheshire ... outlet/en/

and also the Cheshire Oaks Travelodge.

So, if anybody wants to 'Shop Until They Drop' (or knows someone else who would like to) then they could, if they wished, stay overnight at the Travelodge (supposedly 9 minutes walk from the Designer Outlet) and still be at Hooton Park with their bikes keeping George company.

There are other options to camping! :-)

It might also just be a nice ride out for those who attend the monthly South Lancs Meeting.

Hi
we have been asked for numbers so please let me know who wants to come

There will be a BBQ but we need to bring our own food, I plan to take some for myself together with something to make a drink.

As Bryce said there is a Travelodge nearby for those who need more comfort

Even if you can not afford the time to stay how about coming along to show the bikes off, drink tea and chat?

Hi
it looks like there will only be a couple of us there overnight, and 4 or 5 on the day

If you are planning to come can you mail me please, name so I know who is there.

And details of bike, model, year, speed, fuel consumption so I can draft an information card? This depends on getting my new printer to work with my Linux, --- stop laughing Bryce.

Hi
Mail from the organiser
Exhibitors in by 9am latest really, we have had an issue with catering our BBQ person is now not coming sorry. But I can provide a BBQ set and charcoal if you like? If not own catering…..

See you on Saturday
How many are coming along for the day? please mail me cos atm there are only 2 of us camping

I think we should have the bbq, even if it is a disposable one to hot up what we take, which atm I think I will take a morrisions pre-cooked chicken, salad, a pudding, coffee and a few beers, not sure about breakfast yet.

Hi
I got you pm but done nothing with it yet, I intend to arrive about 4ish cos they want to shut the gates after the visitors leave but say they will have a key holder on site so we can pop out.

That stove looks expensive to run if it burns the 10 pound notes all the time

Hi
Saturday, George and Tango camped, John dropped in for a pre meal chat, then we had a meal and a few beers with a gold wing couple. Afterwards we kept warm by a BOMBfire, we were told it was a 20mm cannon shell fire, but it was a 4S explosion, it went with a real bang though..

Today, George, Tango, John, his wingman on bikes, and Bryce came to visit

Weather great, good show and general FREE fun time enjoyed by all. I think John has some pictures.
