This Forum is purely to display information on current and potential official Club Events - discussion of upcoming and past events is encouraged but as this area is for official events, new Topics may only be posted by Club Officials or Event Co-ordinators.

For an event to be official and thus covered by the Club insurance, it must have been sanctioned by one of the Club officials who will have the power to post whatever is appropriate - you may then discuss the event if you wish. Only events listed on the website or e-Zine Calendars are official.

You must be a fully paid up Club Member in order to attend Club events although if you wish to attend one event with a view seeing if you wish to become a Member then one of the Club Officers may sanction that if you ask although you will be required to complete a 'Temporary Membership' form.

If you'd like to suggest a new event then your suggestions, offers etc can be made in the 'Event Suggestions' Forum. To propose an event you need to talk to one of the Event Co-ordinators or an Officer and ask them to make an initial post and/or sanction and list it.

Weather forecast for tomorrow is not good.

I'm going to delay my decision until the morning, but if it's chucking it down, I won't be there.

Motorcycling is supposed to be a pleasure - and I get no pleasure in 260+ miles in the rain

Well I've just got home from our wet Scottish adventure to Moffat and the St Mary's Loch meet. Six of us made it to the meet despite the miserable wet conditions: me, Glenn (Teetwothousand), Marty ( Tango) and John (Farmerboy) met up on Monday at Hartside Cafe and we had a great ride up to Moffat on empty roads. On a very rainy Tuesday morning we set off to the Glen Cafe meet where we were joined by Ced (Galactic Greyhound) and Gordon (Gogs01). We had a long session in the cafe talking about this and that whilst hoping that the rain would stop and we could have a ride out. Unfortunately the rain didn't stop but Ced took us for a shortened ride out to some of the local beauty spots which would have looked better if the rain clouds hadn't been in the way, oh well never mind it will be sunny the next time we go. Gordon left us to make the long journey home and Ced led the rest of us back to Moffat where we said our farewells until the next time. Thanks Ced for your very informative tour and thank you all (you know who you are) for a very enjoyable Scottish adventure. Let's do it again!!

I'll be staying for 2 nights in Moffat, 11 and 12 July. Does anyone who attended this event have recommendations for venues for:

1) Good Beer
2) Good evening meal

1) I didn't see much choice of real ales in the pubs I visited, just the usual lagers and maybe John Smiths smooth but others may have found a proper pub.
2) Decent sit down fish and chips in The Balmoral £7 and The Bull Inn specialises in home made pies and mash which were very good and very nice gravy £10.

The Rumblin Tum cafe does a very nice full Scottish breakfast.
