Well I have had an interesting day.
Left home about 10:15 to ride to Nafferton. Bit wet, but not chucking it down.

Going up Sutton Bank the handling on the hairpin bends was awful - the bike (GS) was a pig to pull upright after a bend.
Struggled on up, and turned into the Sutton Bank visitor's centre.
Flat back tyre (Well, 11 PSI on my Gauge)

Called the AA and he found a nail in it - got that out and made a temporary repair.
I rode gently home, at 40 MPH max.

Bugger.

Sorry you had that bother Phil, good job you stopped to investigate, could've been nasty. Four of us did make it, splish splashing through the rain, they were myself, Steve Hiles, Nick Jackson, Peter Brindle and Mike Forth. Nick was first to arrive and first to discover that the pub wasn't open! I pushed in shortly afterwards with a dead engine just in time to see Nick working his charms on the landlady and persuading her to open the doors just for us. Four excellent, piping hot, generous, good value meals were duly served in the restaurant no less, full marks to the Star, definitely a venue to be kept on the list for next year. The return ride was more or less dry which was just as well since my old R60/6 had run out of sparks 3 times on the way to the pub. Any one got any good tips for waterproofing plug leads?
Steve.

Phil, I think you got away very lightly, if you hadn't had that puncture you would've had to face something
far more menacing than an AA man - a lynch mob of four hungry club members baying for your blood!
The Nafferton SWAT team was placed on full alert in case you dared to show up.

I bet it was a bloody tedious ride back to Darlington at 40 mph, however, at least you got home ..........it could have
been a very different story!

See you next time?
Nick.

New ones is the answer.
The insulation breaks down over years due to UV light.
Replace them is the only answer Steve
