Postby Aladin1 » Sat Jun 17, 2017 3:50 pm

For some unknown reason this 'official event' has not been included in the events calendar so I am posting here to remind everyone that this meet is on the 27th June 2017 at the Glen Cafe at St. Mary's Loch TD75LH ....1200-1300hrs Tel: 01750-42241. GPS: N 55.4713, W 3.2061 Toilets, Food and beverages available. No fuel available. Parking available. Sponsor Al (Aladin1)

Ced (Galactic Greyhound) has kindly agreed to lead a ride out after the meet on one of the local scenic routes. Some of us from south of the border are travelling up on Monday 26th and visiting the Buddhist Temple and Monastery in Eskdalemuir.

Hope to see you there.

Weather forecast is dry but it looks like the summer heat wave will have gone. Does Scotland ever have heat waves?? No offence meant to our colleagues up north.

OK - I'll bite !

We get heatwaves most years, usually hotter than London, sometimes hotter than Seville . I was at Knockhill at the weekend and got home on Saturday glowing cherry red. Just starting to turn brown now .....

The trouble of course is that they can be difficult to predict, extremely localised and very short lived, but yes - we have heatwaves !

Yep - couldn't resist !

The forecast I'm looking at for the 27th is saying "more clouds than sun" and 16C. That sounds like a pretty good day for a run on the bike ! As long as no other commitments come up I'm planning on being at the Glen Café for 12:00 on Tuesday 27th. Carrying sun cream and waterproofs, obviously. Hoping to have some company .....

That weather will do for me. There seems to be a lot of interest in this meet from the Yorkshire and North West sections and I am expecting at least three Scotland dwellers to turn up so I think you will have some company for lunch. See ya there all being well.

Fingers crossed Phil !
The forecast for Monday is now looking better, but Tuesday is saying "numerous showers, mostly cloudy" - not ideal, but if it is no worse than that I'll wear the waterproofs rather than pack them, and hope to see you at the café. And we can hope for an improvement in the forecast !

It's too hot up here when the sun shines!

Better wish for cloudy sun!
