April 17th Pately Bridge

Postby gogs01 » Sat Apr 07, 2018 10:26 pm

I see from the club calendar that there is a lunch meet planned for Tuesday 17th of this month in Pately Bridge

Two years ago I rode down from Dundee the day before, then met up with P-K, Nick Jackson, stevehiles, keiththeoutfitter1, peterbrindle, Aladin1 and Teetwothousand.
It was great meeting forum / club members from down South (or up North as they call it elsewhere), and we had the usual jovial banter and a bite of lunch. My brother had been in Nottingham and he joined us too and when we all went our separate ways the two of us rode back to Dundee together.

I fancy doing something similar this year, so is anyone intending to attend ? It's a long way for me to ride if there's not going to be any other BM people there, but I'm up for it if a couple of others are likely to be there.
If that can be confirmed I would then ask if anyone else from North of the border fancies a run down to : http://www.pateleybridgeauction.co.uk/teacupscafe.html (Northwest of Harrogate). I would intend travelling down on the afternoon of the 16th (with an overnight in somewhere like Richmond), returning on the afternoon of the 17th.

Great ! Just waiting now to see if there are any more takers and if anybody else wants to travel down with me.

That will be a nice little warm up for my trip to Jerez at the end of the month.

I can probably get there at any time (tearoom opens at 10:00), but it's not "my" meet, so I'm happy to fit in.
The one proviso for me is that I have a long ride home, so I'd probably want to be on my way before 15:00.
I'm just hoping we've seen the last of the snow .....

Hi folks,

My health took a downturn this January so I'll likely not be biking to events this year.

Nice to see the North/South alliances continuing!

Have a good day everyone.

Hi
what time are you planning to meet?

George
George,

All the Yorkshire Lunch Meets are for 12:00 noon.
People usually start drifting off about 1:30 ish unless alternative arrangements have been made.

Would be great to see you Gordon
Will you be at Pateley Bridge on Tuesday ? I'm planning on overnighting in Bowes on Monday 16th the heading for the Teacups Tearoom in time for lunch (I'll probably be early).

If you won't be there on Tuesday, keep in touch because I'll be South of the Border again this year, or we can meet in Scotland .....

Steve and I are planning to be there on Tuesday, the weather's looking promising for the first time this year.
I remember when we last met up at Teacups, we sat outside in glorious sunshine, let's hope for more of the same!
It'll be great to meet up again Gordon and have some banter.
Nick.

Sadly not possible - other commitments - otherwise I'd enjoy the ride.

My brother (Norman) is going to come with me, so the Scottish contingent will be x2. He doesn't do forums, but he rides a 2016 R1200RT LE.
We'll likely be at the Teacups closer to 11:00 than 12:00, but we can happily drink tea until everyone else turns up !
