Ah just noticed the centre stand I have the same problem with my 83 RS

It might be prudent to attack this now before you go any farther

You need about an inch clear of the ground at rear wheel to be "ANY" sort of use at all

I already have a new stand and bushes and I am contemplating a later type stand or a cut n shut and reweld job

They are THEE most horrible stands I have ever encountered on a motorcycle Especially a BMW

Not sure about the stand problem - the rear wheel is on the ground because there is no subframe or rear suspension fitted...

I was originally thinking that but I was wondering did the OP fit this bar with one shock on to "keep the lines"?

My 83 R100RS has the same stand and is Horrible to get on and off it

I am hoping a later stand will be changeable onto it
