That foxed me for a while as well!

On a Panasonic Lumix, it appears you can only set the Timestamp when you have at least one stored picture in the camera. It seems to be of use primarily for printing photos as you can see the Date/Time (and camera, aperture, etc) on any photo that is stored electronically on a PC Photo Program/App by viewing the properties of the photo.

To set the Timestamp on a Lumix, select; Review Photos mode on the top dial (>), then Settings (Set/Menu button), scroll through the settings till you come to Timestamp. There is the option to Timestamp just one photo or a group of photos.

Same here! I will have to look on line for 'how to' on an Olympus U 760.

May not be practical but you could get a date confirmation other ways. In the old movies they always gave the hostage a current newspaper :)

Just a comment you may wish to consider Lolo -

The 'if possible' photo timestamp is a bit of a pest.

I haven't put it on my last photo because I forgot how to do it and my camera will not allow it to be set permanently on. I think it is really irrelevant anyway as I believe the time on any digital photo can be altered to show any date.

I think others also had problems with trying to set up this function on their cameras so it may act as a deterrent to folk posting photos in the competition.

Tried to follow instructions, but fell at the "post your pictures" bit - how hard can it be to upload a picture ?
Too hard for this old duffer ! - I got back yesterday from a 4000 mile trip to Spain (Ronda) and Assen with a couple of photos which might qualify but I can't figure out how to upload an attachment. Help required !

And if your pics are too large.........

Using the Forum 'Upload Attachment' method you are limited to uploading a picture of not more than 1200 x 1200 pixels max dimensions, 250Kbytes max file size. Any problems will be advised
when you try it. You can then add up to three pictures/post.

Here's how:
1. Go to 'Full Editor'.
2. Scroll down and select 'Upload Attachment' tab.
3. Select 'Browse' for your picture (max 1200x1200 pixels and 250Kb filesize).
4. Add any 'File Comments' to be attached to the pic.
5. Select 'Add the file' - you will then be advised if there are any loading/sizing problems.
6. Place your cursor in the post where you want the pic to be located.
7. Select 'Place Inline'.
8. Repeat from (2) above for up to a total of three pics/post.
9. Select 'Submit'.

If your pics are too big (> 1200x1200 pixels and 250Kb filesize), I use Windows Paint (tabs Home/Resize) which allows you to resize a pic and save it under a different filename
e.g. 'existing filename'_ small.

Hi Phil,
that is very odd, I was not even home yesterday when that was posted and I THINK I posted it around about 10 days in advance of the event?

Good to see the slowly growing numbers of competitants.
Just a few thinks I could do so lots of chance for the others to catch up (or overtake).
