Day running lights

Postby paneuro » Wed Sep 21, 2016 10:16 pm

I would like to fit a pair of day running lights and have been looking on Ebay but I am unsure if this is the best place to get them. The prices range form £15.00 to £24.95 for the same thing or that's what it looks like. Any advice would be great. Paneuro

The CREE LED daytime running lights from Bikeviz.co.uk are just the job - I have them on my R1150RT - they are seriously bright.

Very well made and a good price from a UK seller.

You won't be sorry.

Has anyone seen the switchback LED lights that replace you lndicator bulbs and keep them white until
You use your indicator then they turn Amber.
They are good as running lights, I had them on my Honda ST1300

hi
the switchback sound neat but due you need to change the bulb holder and wire side lights to the new holder

I had a set of rear reds from Bikevis, they went faulty in under 6 months, I mounted them on the bottom of the top box, they acted as tail and brake lights.

By coincidence I have just ordered the eBay cheapies and went for the set plus switch for just over 15 squids for 2 NCAA wiring, brackets and switch.....delivered. Supposedly made from alloy but of course my expectation is low. I have watched the various YouTube hacks to stop them flicking through strobe etc.

They say they will be here on Thursday so when they turn up I will give you some feedback if you wish?

What's to lose at that price...even if I have to do some strengthening / waterproofing 'improvements'

If they haven't turned up by now it certainly was a slow boat from China.

Yes. I did not bother updating as I posed a question to the OP about whether they would be interested in feedback and , since I got no reply I had assumed not.

They arrived within 2 days of ordering. They are ridiculously good for the money, I put a more robust waterproof switch on instead of the one sent and I have since bought another pair (even cheaper, I assume cos of pound) as, after 2000 miles ,many downpours and a thrash around the Nurburgring , one of them went out. The strobe function is slightly irritating but I have got used to setting them correctly prior to set off and all is well.

Wired via relay, many thanks to Tango for his help getting the wiring right.

Most of my "wires" appear to have been crossed recently, maybe that's why yours went out. :toothy2:

When you consider the metal frame they are in, the nuts and bolts, wires, the light itself, a switch and the packing and postage then £14 odd a pair is ridiculous. I even kept the old one as a spare cage cos maybe they will rust over winter but they look ok so far.
