Timing light.

Hi does anyone have the configuration of the wiring for the timing light to set hall effect sensor plate? My timing is marginally off after repair.

Cheers Image

Re: Hall sensor wiring diagram

Cheers for the help and advice. My wires looked fine but decided to solder new ones in anyway. Bike seems to be running fine now. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180514/99f9cd1b09b65373580a599c7cf88554.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180514/c0efdc40b7dbbc4793c4196846b60f4c.jpg Sent from my...

R1100rt cutting out

Please help. Bikes starts runs for about 10min then cuts out and refuses to restart. No back fires, no over fuelling. Bench test hall effect last year. Has fuel stabilizers and fresh fuel etc. Restarts after cold. Any clues please

Re: RE: Re: I need new bobbins....

Yours look as bad as mine were. I got the clips off by slipping a ground down screwdriver into one of the two slots and twisting. It worked on most of them, but some needed a tap with a screwdriver. I also held the wheel upright in the vice to make it all easier, as I left the discs on the wheel. B...

Brakes! Abs or not? Front or both?

when riding the other day on my r1100rt I had to do a fairly heavy braking manoeuvre and it took way longer than I expected to pull up. My abs lights have been flashing for a while and bike passed mot like that so I assumed they were fine. On inspection buttons on front discs are knackered and repla...

Re: I need new bobbins....

So got around to dismantling disks. Put a bolt through the middle and used 2 punches on end of circlip, tapping horizontally so not hammer down on discs. 1st pic shows a reasonable one 2nd and 3rd well worn. Definitely replace all, only £34 for 12 from moto-bins https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2017...

Re: RE: Re: I need new bobbins....

I’m not too sure why the discs need to float actually, as the pads are free to move independently and accommodate any wear. Where can the original bobbins be sourced? Floating discs allow for heat to dissipate quicker. Amateur racers will drill out fixed buttons and fit floating to maintain consist...

Re: RE: Re: Starts but won't run.

Hi George, You don't say what bike but your intro thread indicates it could be an R1100RT. Your problem could be the Ignition Trigger Unit (Hall Effect Sensor) assembly. This is known to fail at about 50,000 miles and the failure is due to wiring insulation breakdown in the harness between the Hall...

Starts but won't run.

Hi have had an intermittent problem for past couple of years . Bikes starts and runs then cuts out after a while.. next use it starts but won't get far then drains battery. Resolved by stripping and putting air filter, injectors etc back . Does seem to over fuel when it happens as I have had massive...

Hi from Dundee

Hi there new to the forum. One of my bikes is an R1100RT. Did many a mile until little ones arrived. Hoping for more miles this year but will have to see what the year brings.
