Re: Northern Meet in Glen Lyon this Sunday 12th May 2019

Sounds like I missed a good meet.
I arrived in Rimini yesterday in glorious sunshine but, by lunchtime today, it was very wet and very windy, so I would have been better off in Glen Lyon !
Heading south tomorrow and hoping for better weather - hoping to meet up at future events. 😊

Re: Northern Meet in Ceres this Sunday 28th April 2019

Sorry I could not make this last one at Ceres. My internet has been down for several days. I was under the sidecar over the w/e rearranging the suspension (now done). Six old valve springs might just make the difference! Overcharging battery problem is also solved so I might make the next meet whic...

I'm not going to be in the country for the next one, so maybe Jockboxer or Mjolinor (or both !) can take my place.

Re: Northern Meet in Ceres this Sunday 28th April 2019

A lovely day out ! 😊 I set off early and had a run through Abernyte, Balbeggie, Scone, Bridge of Earn and some previously unseen back roads of Fife en route to Ceres. The tearoom does a really tasty bacon sandwich and the coffee's good too. Four of us round the table with a wide range of topics of c...

Re: Membership Problems......

I've just paid my £14 for club membership renewal (by Paypal) and went through the procedure for form completion (clicked "here"). Unfortunately, the email wouldn't go (not recognised by server, or some such). I then tried composing an email with all the relevant information and that said that it di...

Good luck with the MoT - I look forward to seeing the R80RT on Sunday !

Re: Nav 6 - Fuel tracking

Referring to your original post, be careful with the ‘distance to nearest fuel station’. I was running low once and the Satnav said four miles to the nearest fuel. It was, straight across the other side of Lake Geneva! It only gives straight line distances and it was actually about a thirty-mile ri...

I was beginning to think you'd forgotten about this meet ! I've got it in my calendar and I intend to be there. If it's a nice day, I intend to go from there to Scotland's Secret Bunker (about 20 minutes ride from Ceres). https://www.secretbunker.co.uk/visit/finding.aspx Anyone wanting in on ...

Re: Phone paired with Nav V

Checked the microphone, all looked OK. Tried unpairing the phone from the satnav, then paired it again. While doing this, under "paired device" there was an option "Call audio", which was switched off. I switched it on and thought I'd solved the problem. Then I noticed it had switched off again. I d...

Re: 2019 Northern Meets at Trossachs Pier

Found the Trossachs Pier (although the postcode caused the satnav to take me past the Ben Venue car park and on towards the Duke's Pass). Moral of story ? - follow the signposts ! Keith (Ruralman) turned up just after I got parked and we were about to head for the cafe when we heard an old BMW boxer...

Hi Gordon, As this is the first meet at the Trossachs Pier we’ll have to sort out which Cafe/Restaurant is best I’ll meet you at the Ticket office Cafe for coffee then we’ll decide whether or not to move to the restaurant. Regards. Keith . OK - let's hope I can find the ticket office cafe !

Re: 2019 Northern Meets at Trossachs Pier

Just so there is no confusion - the grid reference gives the cafe by Loch Katrine near the steamship pier that I assume is the RV. The postcode indicates another cafe (!) by Loch Acray Hotel on the A821. I shall maybe have a go at getting there - but yesterday my battery was almost completely dry (...

Re: No. of keys supplied for keyless bikes

The keyless fob does actually incorporate a key which can be used to double lock the panniers or top box, or to remove the rider's seat. In a three week, 4000 mile trip, the fob can stay in my pocket because I don't see a need to double lock anything or remove the seat. The central locking takes car...

I've googled Duke's Pass.
I'm going to go via Crieff and Lochearnhead, but I may head for Aberfoyle / Dunblane on the return journey.
The Duke's Pass looks like it might be interesting .....

Microphone securely connected ?

No reason to think otherwise - it used to work.
The microphone not being connected wouldn't explain my not being able to hear the caller - or would it ?

Phone paired with Nav V

I have a Navigator V, a BMW helmet with Bluetooth communicator and a Samsung smart phone. The communicator and phone are paired with the Nav V and I can hear turn by turn directions. If I receive a phone call, it is shown on the Nav V screen and I hear it ring. The screen gives me the option to answ...

Re: 2019 Northern Meets at Trossachs Pier

Hi, Sadly I'm away this weekend so not able to attend... have a good run and lunch. I can recommend the route in from Aberfoyle over The Dukes Pass... Rob Shame you can't make it on Sunday. I'm going regardless, so it may be just me and Keith - unless anyone else fancies a run out ..... :-k
