Re: Molly grease

The specified product has around five times the moly content, and a tube will last a lifetime, or longer, I don't think I will live long enough to use mine. 'FWIW my plate has over 450,0000 km on it and the splines are fine, all the writing is worn off the tube! I think Castrol now make Optimoly, o...

Re: Hair cut?

I cut my own hair for several years. No.2 up the sides and No.4 over the top. my wife did the back of my neck. Reason ? My barber left a note on his shop door, "Back in 10 minutes" . After waiting 45 minutes in the fr-e-e-e-zing cold I called it a day and never went back there. Now a ladies salon in...

I watched this programme and could't believe how alike he was to Guy Martin in speech and mannerisms. Kept it on file to watch again.

Re: R25/2 new owner

Lottie at home..jpg Hi Al, All the best with your restoration of the R25/2. If you haven't ridden one yet don't be surprised at how low the first gear is. These bikes put the German population back on wheels after WW2 and were the workhorse of the day. I have an R25/3 with an R25 engine and toured ...

Evening pleasure

Watching TV last night at dusk with the lights off and the curtains open we were treated to seeing dozens of bats hunting outside. The aerial display was fantastic and much more interesting than the programme content. Must check my camera later to see whether I managed to film any of them.

Re: Remove both wheels

I did mine by making a tee piece of timber out of 2 pieces of 3 x 2 then drilled a hole for the front fork axle to go through. 24" base length with the leg length just longer than the spindle height. Put the bike on the centre stand , remove the front wheel and place the wooden tee piece in position...

I am sorry to be raising this subject but someone has to bite the bullet. Since the tragic early passing of Phil (R.I.P.) there has been some conjecture about the future of this forum in one or two places. I posted this some time ago when Phil was due to retire - Re: Intrusive advert on Forum pages...

Re: Insurance excess

It's not only motor insurance where you can/will get stung. Because of health problems I had to cancel our holiday abroad ( by coach) earlier in the year. After paying close to £90.00 for cover I was deducted another £50 from the holiday deposit for the cancellation. So much for MSE and Compare the ...

I led some runs for the BMW Club via Moffat in times past and visited this attraction a few times. Dr. H. MacLeod also showed us around his collection of vintage cars which he had restored himself, well worth a visit and a very nice gentleman to chat with. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/south_o...
