Re: R25/2 new owner

Lottie at home..jpg Hi Al, All the best with your restoration of the R25/2. If you haven't ridden one yet don't be surprised at how low the first gear is. These bikes put the German population back on wheels after WW2 and were the workhorse of the day. I have an R25/3 with an R25 engine and toured ...

Evening pleasure

Watching TV last night at dusk with the lights off and the curtains open we were treated to seeing dozens of bats hunting outside. The aerial display was fantastic and much more interesting than the programme content. Must check my camera later to see whether I managed to film any of them.

Re: Remove both wheels

I did mine by making a tee piece of timber out of 2 pieces of 3 x 2 then drilled a hole for the front fork axle to go through. 24" base length with the leg length just longer than the spindle height. Put the bike on the centre stand , remove the front wheel and place the wooden tee piece in position...

Re: Insurance excess

It's not only motor insurance where you can/will get stung. Because of health problems I had to cancel our holiday abroad ( by coach) earlier in the year. After paying close to £90.00 for cover I was deducted another £50 from the holiday deposit for the cancellation. So much for MSE and Compare the ...

Hi there, Thanks to all my wellwishers over the last disastrous 2 years. Hi Rob we get AAA assessment (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm) automatically, or at least, I got an invite for no particular reason. George I get an annual invite for a ultrasound check for the same problem. I had a hell of a shock one year when I had an urgent recall over the rate of growth, fortunately...

Re: Northern Meet in Moffat this Sunday 28th October 2018

I led some runs for the BMW Club via Moffat in times past and visited this attraction a few times. Dr. H. MacLeod also showed us around his collection of vintage cars which he had restored himself, well worth a visit and a very nice gentleman to chat with. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/south_o...

Now where are my Derri boots? Can't seem to get those any more either! They might have been lousy for crash-protection purposes, but they were waterproof!
