Reminds me of the standard fitting on a /5.

Re: Changing Fork Oil Viscosity

7.5 or 10 is fine. I would suspect more than that might be a bit harsh.

Re: R18

The price is a problem. A key word is FROM. Put a screen and luggage on it; add a few modifications and £19k moves on to £22k. That said I prefer second hand due to depreciation but I am getting older and that presents other issues. Wish this had come out 5 or 10 years ago.

R18

Yesterday took out an R18 for a test ride. Being a long time rider and fan of Airheads as well as Harleys this bike interests me. First impression is forget the weight. This bike is very easy to move around and in heavy traffic feels easy work. Seat height accounts for this as does it's narrow width...

Re: Advice on fuel consumption

On the R90S if I kept to a steady 70mph I would expect between 50 and 55mpg. On the R75/5 nearer 45mpg and about 45mpg on the R100RT. The R90S is much more relaxed on the motorway due to gearing.

Re: Considering airhead mono purchase

The R100RT I have is a 1995 model. Compared to the earlier bikes braking and handling are much improved. It is almost a KRT but with boxer engine.

Run my Airheads on Avons and set tyre pressures as recommended by Avon. I find them very good in wet conditions.

I have seen one in bottle green. Story behind it was military use. I do favour the black or white options though.

Odyssey every time. A 680 will do the job or if you like overkill go for the 925. In the past got 11 years+ out of a 680 on a 1340 Harley

Carol Nash ceased to be Carol Nash a few years ago. The service since it was bought out is not as good. The same group owns 2 other insurance companies or rather names.

Silkolene 7.5 fork oil I find gives a firm but comfortable ride on my Airheads.

Re: Fork top caps

One of mine was a 2 man job. A mate took hold of the handle bars and bike whilst I used the pin spanner with an extension bar on it. Good luck. Certain that you will beat it.
