I've got the spring swapped over, thanks Trunch Garage, but now I cannot get the *¥$%shock back in! Help!
Really wish I had never embarked on this project, but must persevere I suppose. In the meantime the bike is unrideable.

Hyperpro suspension upgrade 2015 F800 GT
Hello all. I t thought the suspension on my otherwise excellent 2015 GT was a bit lacklustre. it tends to transmit all road bumps straight to my arms, while the ride quality is fairly so-so, even after adding a Sargent lowered comfort seat. A visit to Motorworks opened an Aladdin's cave of goodies, ...

Re: Gear Shift Assist has stopped working
Well, it turned out to be nothing to do with the battery state. The GSA unit had failed. I got my money's worth from my Motorrad extended warranty that day, I can tell you, as a new GSA unit is £400 plus £100 to fit and re-learn. I had to pay a £100 excess on the policy, so I suppose I got off light...

Re: GPS Mounting Point for R1150RT
It looks the business, but then so it should!Must admit, I particularly like the Migsel option, as I have tried fitting to the LHS of the handlebars, but don't find that particularly attractive, although it does work.
Thank you all for the various suggestions.

Re: Gear Shift Assist has stopped working
Sorry to hear you're having issues with your GSA. I can't help, but I'm interested in hearing how you get on. My GSA works satisfactorily, but I believe it could be better. I wonder if the re-learning process can change the timing of the "pause" which allows the gears to change up. I know that if t...

Gear Shift Assist has stopped working
Hi all. Got my 2015 R1200RT LC LE out yesterday for the first time since last October, apart from a brief excursion for its first MoT in January. It's always on a Ctek MX-5 maintenance charger so the battery is sweet and I run a dehumidifier in the garage to keep corrosion at bay. Anyway, it quickly...

Re: GPS Mounting Point for R1150RT
I had one of these on my 1150 - very elegant but not cheap - it came with the bike and I thought it was brilliant - putting the satnav right where you need it. Has a 1" RAM ball to take any compatible mount - a TomTom Rider 5 in this case. Just bolts into place using the fairing's own mounting point...

Switching MPH to KmPH for continental trip
Hi all. Anyone know if it's possible to change the numerical speed display from MPH to KmH temporarily for a trip to France? Seems likely it can only be done with the GS911 diagnostic computer, but wondered if it could be done as part of a start-up sequence, eg holding one or two buttons down as you...

Re: F800ST best place to wire in satnav power?
I got the wiring connected up in the end. Used a spare connector on the wiring harness to the right of the air box. It had a +ve that was only live when the ignition was on and turned off 6 seconds after the ignition key was switched off. Cut into the +ve - the other wire to the connector was not -v...

Navigator 5 Bluetooth woes
Hi all. Bought a used Nav V on Fleabay and all was well connecting it to my Sena SMH5 headset and Motorola Moto G4 Plus phone. The first time I tried making and receiving a phone call on it everything worked well. Now, even though I can hear Satnav instructions and other information from the Nav 5 t...

The state of Britain's roads
When the Northern Distributor Road around Norwich,UK, is finished, I am going to ride up and down it all day as it will be virtually the only smooth piece of tarmac/blacktop in the county. You really feel every bump, dip and defect on a motorbike, even one with adjustable suspension settings like my...

Re: Tank bags
That bag holds a lot and if you limited it to 2Kg it would have to be feathers! The locking ring is held on with four bolts into the tank replacing four originals. I would only put the ring on when touring as it's not lovely. The locking mechanism has several contact points so all in all I would say...

Re: Tank bags
This one is 20L and I've just bought it. I wanted a tank lock bag for quick release when filling up with petrol. Good quality and not a bad price if you shop around. You need the adapter ring for this bike as well, although it comes with one that also seems to work, but not the clamp plate and bolts...

Re: F800ST best place to wire in satnav power?
I believe there is a dedicated power supply socket suitable for gps use situated on top of the battery. If it is the same as the power supply on my 07 1200gs you will need a power lead that you splice to the tom tom power lead (You only use 2 of the wires). I got mine from motor works part no. ELA1...

Clearly I need to get better acquainted with the internals of the bike. Its owner is back from abroad today, so I will pester him.
Cheers.

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply, chaps, much appreciated.
However, your answers didn't really contain the information I need, but hopefully someone else will be able to fill in the details.

F800ST best place to wire in satnav power?
Hi all. Planning to install a powered mount on my wingman's F800ST. Mount needs to have power only when ignition is on, so mount isn't drawing power (to convert 12v to 5v) when bike is off. Is it a matter of tupperware off and run cable back to fuse box (wherever that is on this bike), or can I pigg...

Re: Seat heights
Achtung! Panzer!Or if you can read German, or use Google Translate, the label says "Driver's seat, black, high, heated", and in Goldbugs pic "...., black, low, heated".
However, it is always wise to check part numbers.
