You could try Hel brakelines

It was a year or so ago when I changed mine on the R1150rt - although it may not be listed you can probably buy a hose for the r1100rt. They may ask you to send your old hose to them so that they can make one up....

Re: This is disgusting

The story has been on the BBC website for most of the week. It sounds like she was driving on the wrong side of the road and it was an unfortunate accident so even if she had stayed in the UK I'm not sure what she would have been charged with- careless driving? I suspect they will come up with some ...

Re: Thee most effective ear plugs in the universe

The wax had been pushed right up to the eardrum. I am having moulds made next week with a view to getting a pair of the Ultimateear filtered plugs made. If you go to a bike show (like NEC) the custom fit ear plug companies will do free moulds. They firstly use an ostoscope to check your ear for any...

If they are thinking of a congestion charge - how about excluding bikes? How about providing secure bike parking? charging bays for electric motorcycles? Or storage lockers next to bike parking so that motorcycle tourists can safely stow their gear while exploring the city? My perfect bike parking a...

Re: Thee most effective ear plugs in the universe

I found the absolute best noise reduction was to buy swmbo a Rhone river cruise with firstborn. The peace and tranquillity was to die for at home during that brief period. You could try a dried pea in your ear- a very effective way to soften swmbo conversation - at least so it was written in Captai...

Re: Thee most effective ear plugs in the universe

I have the ultimate ear ones
https://www.ultimateear.com/product/squ ... orcyclist/
They are rated 30db noise reduction and they make a big difference compared to foam ear plugs. Used to get a bit of tinnitus after long motorway journeys but not any more.

Re: Sealing an exhaust

Firegum is supposed to work but I didn't have much luck with my R1150RT.... https://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/garage-equipment/head-gasket-exhaust-repairs/holts-firegum-150g Doesn't go as rock hard as GumGum and you should be able to get it off again, if you need to remove can for maintenance....

Re: Rusty oil filter

Dode - watch some of the Chris Harris you tube vids on servicing. Oil filter should be hand tight and then approx 1 full turn and seal should be smeared with old engine oil (presumably avoids sticking)

Re: Latest Bike Models

People buy newer bikes for all sorts of reasons but ultimately its probably the heart ruling the head. Lets say you want a newer bike because of the reliability but you could argue new bikes can be just as reliable/unreliable as old properly maintained ones. Or maybe its the additional safety featur...

Re: Engine bars for R1250RT

Congrats on your new bike...... Depends on your reason for wanting them. If its to stop scratching the heads if you drop it then head covers look slicker but if you want protection in a minor slide then personally I think bars would be better. If you decide you want bars then you have several to cho...

Re: Scotland to Normandy France

Went to Normandy last year with Battlefields on a bike. Its a 7 hour ferry from Portsmouth to Caen so you could overnight on the ferry. Tunnel is an excellent way to cross the channel and will be much cheaper and only takes 40 mins (about hour and a half if you include checkin). Love going across on...

Re: Tank bag

I have the givi tank lock fitted to my RT LC and have two different sizes of bags. The one I think looks and fits better is the ST602 (but it has less room). I also have the larger XS307 but this hangs over the rear of the tank (it needs shifted back to avoid fouling handbars) and it looks a bit odd...

Mirror pods

There seems to be a bit of a design fault with these. When washing the bike (and presumably if left in the rain) water collects in the inside corner of the mirror pod so you have a nice puddle of water inside the pod. I have to resort to blowing out the water with an air compressor or pet dryer. BMW...

Re: French toll roads

I'm sure I read somewhere that if you keep your bike to the left of the lane, it senses you are not a full width vehicle and are a motorcycle but if you stop in the middle you pay full price.....but then again that could just be an urban myth !!
