Re: Moutaintop Motorcycle Museum fire!

There are some woodworking products which I would never use as they virtually catch light if you mention their names!

Re: Moutaintop Motorcycle Museum fire!

If I take the welder to the shed, I take the small extinguisher I bought when I bought the welder. What used to scare me in the shed was Danish oil when doing wood working. The number of threads that said to ensure that you do not leave the rag screwed up after use, as it can instantly combust. Shed...

Re: Moutaintop Motorcycle Museum fire!

Not sure whether to say thank god there are hoarders, or to say at least these will help keep parts going or make up for the museum fire.

Re: Love the description

It’s an interesting hobby. Do I buy a British bike (can’t afford 99.9% of them) and spend a lot of time tinkering; isn’t that part of the interest.... Or go Japanese for an easier time. Now.... the only problem here is that British parts are pretty accessible and lots of people are fabricating stuff...

Re: Plastics cleaner? BMW R80RT

I’ve never thought of it as a polish, but I guess it could be... not sure how effective it will be on top of ACF50. I treat the one I mentioned as a cleaner/shiner. Not cheap, but it does looks good when done. If panniers have mud on them, then I’ll wash that off. When dry, apply the vinyl cleaner. ...

That’s the benefit of the OC3, the power wouldn’t hurt you, but good enough to use with a brush and get crud away.

Rob and Mjolinor are the sparkys  It’s small enough to get in my shed and I could take all the time in the world. I’m not going for this one. I think even though British, too high a price and with the current situation, too far. Actually, if I couldn’t retire this, I don’t deserve to be a home...

Re: I have to ask

I have started laying in bed until gone 9am because there is simply no reason to get up. That’s a slippery slope. Hard to get off once on. I’m furloughed again, started on Monday. At least three days a week, I get up with my wife as she works at a horse sanctuary. She drops me somewhere at 8:00 and...

Re: Electric Motorbikes

In some ways you are right about bikes. Governments have encouraged us to spend on stuff, and still do. They need us to spend for many complex reasons. George My bikes are for commuting as well as holidays; holiday in the past! You’re right about spending and we need a total change in the way comme...

Personally and I think I’ll go as far as a recommendation, I’ve used this for years on all plastics. Makes them look like new and no residue: https://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/interior-cleaning/autoglym-vinyl-and-rubber-care-500ml-121657.html On the black areas of an R80RT fairing and p...

Re: I have to ask

Interesting read that Rob. It doesn’t fully answer my question and to be frank, there probably never will get a clear cut answer. As far as I can tell, if a test is done on the deceased and they have COVID, then that is put as the reason; I glad they cleared up “you cannot just put old age”! I’ll la...

Re: I have to ask

Can I ask a question, not too much off topic. I’ve asked this of a minister and am waiting a reply. I am not saying anything negative about COVID, I just want an answer; an opinion will do... 2015 there were 529,000 deaths. As an aside, over 210,000 of these were cancer related. Let’s focus on the 5...

I feel the Karcher has slightly more power than needed, so great.

I was going to pop out and record a bit, but I think this shows it good enough:

Re: ADMIN FEE?

I found out when I asked my local dealer why their price was £200 more than another localish dealer.

They said check the other dealer’s site, they charge a £200 (on the road) fee.

Most dealers at the time RE Classic 500, £4199.
Some online dealers plus others £3999 (plus £200 on the road fee)
