I have 6 o'clock/12 o'clock play on the rear wheel of my Sep. 1993K1100RS. I believe this indicates a u/s large bearing on the crown wheel.
If I replace this bearing and seal, is it necessary to check/adjust the shim next to the bearing or can I simply replace the existing shim? I assume the shims for the small taper roller bearing remain undisturbed.
If shimming etc is required, are Scriminger Engineering still working, or is there anywhere else in the East Yorkshire/Lincs area who can be recommended?
