lower fork bridge

Postby fastdonkey » Wed Jan 17, 2018 6:45 pm

Evening all,

Having removed the fork legs from my r1100rt I was rather surprised to see that the lower fork bridge when unloaded does not sit
on the centreline of the bike.
The joint feels fine and the gaiter is intact.
The bridge sits off to the right by almost 2 cm.
Does this need to be rectified ?
Have to say the bike has never felt odd. I will deal with this if I have to but don't want to
give myself a load of unnecessary grief.
If this was a few mm I wouldn't be bothered but I don't know about 2cm. Is it a question of twisting the gaiter without trashing it?

In hope, thanks, warner
