Front brake light switch

Postby Howard64180 » Sun Jul 15, 2018 8:39 pm

I've been having fun with the front brake light switch on my R1100RT today. I took it off to add a bit of tape where the wiring casing was split - I think I then over tightened one of the screws. It will now work only with the rear screw just slightly loose - held in place by a dab of silicone. Anyway, I was looking at the stupid prices for replacement (if I have a spare, it'll keep working forever) and subsequently did a search on here to see what others had done. I see that alternative micro switches have been used to good effect.

I found this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Waterproof-M ... 1438.l2649

And this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Waterproof-M ... 1438.l2649

Does anyone have an old switch they can measure please - including hole spacing? I'm not taking mine off again while it's working!!!
Thanks, Howard.

After more searching I found this (see last post): http://www.motobrick.com/index.php?topic=7557.0

And this, which looks like it has the same part numbers: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cherry-Micro ... =R40&rt=nc

The K1100RS has the same master cylinder as the R1100RT.
