R1100S Rear master cyl repair kit

Postby Big G » Fri May 14, 2021 1:16 pm

Hello everyone, I have a 03 R1100S with a leak from the rear master cylinder, does anyone know if there is a repair kit for this, I know Motoworks can supply a new one but a seal kit should be a lot more economical.
Cheers,
Gary

Unless you can find a brembo or Magura kit for it

I think your luck is out

From BMWs parts lists, it looks as though they never have supplied a kit of parts for that master cylinder. If it can actually be dismantled, you might be able to source seals that will fit. The other bad news is that none of the three 'usual' suppliers... Motorwoks, Motobins and Sherlocks, seem to supply a replacement 13mm cylinder for your model. It's likely that the 12mm cylinder from other R1100 models might fit or the 13mm cylinder from the GS but they have different numbers so you'll need to check.

Hello all, quick update on my brake prob, got a 13mm Brembo from Ebay, it fit without any modification to replace the BMW one, just needed the length on the adjuster setting. Can know use the rear brake when needed.
Cheers,
Gary
