Hi all. Anybody had experience, good or bad with Michelin Pilot Street Radial tyres? Thanks.

As with any tyre thread, you'll get many and varied opinions.
For what it's worth, I've used metzeler Z6 and Z8, Michelin PR3 and PR4GT tyres in recent years. Best value for money ? - PR3. Best tyre for my bike (2017MY R1200RT LE) ? - PR4GT, as recommended by BMW.
I may be wrong, but I wouldn't have thought that BMW would have recommended Pilot Streets for many models. What bike would you be putting them on ?
Current BMW : 2017MY R1200RT LE in Platinum Bronze
Previous BMWs : R1200RT SE (2007 then 2010), R1200RT 90th Anniversary model (2013).

Thanks, it’s my r1200rt. 05 model. A local dealer has them on offer £75 & 85 front rear.

Not a fitment recommended by BMW, or Michelin.
Maybe somebody will come up and say they've tried them and they're great on the RT. I doubt anybody will say they've tried them and they were terrible.
It's going to be up to you alone to decide, so I wish you luck with whatever decision you make.
I hope you'll keep us posted.

Are you sure you've been offered Pilot Streets? Surprised if so as I always thought the 'Street' was for small/medium bikes..... I've been wrong before though...

Exactly.
That's why I mentioned Pilot Roads in my original reply.

Brilliant minds, and all that!

Some suppliers do have them in a 180/55 rear, but some lighter bikes do run 180s - I think I'd stick to something meant for heavier bikes tbh. I had PR3s on my ST, which were very nice indeed, my RT came with new 4GTs on it, but I've not had much chance to try them out in anger.

I've been very impressed with the mileage I'm getting out of Michelin's.
The 9T OE's are coming up to 5,000 miles now and showing no significant signs of wear.
Same goes for the Pilot roads on my 1100RS which look like they're going to give me at least 6,000 miles.
Strangely though, the front is wearing quicker than the rear and looks like it'll need changing first.
