I'm hoping to be there on Sunday.
Before I set off, I need to confirm the location of the Station Tea Rooms. When I put PH17 2QA into google maps, the route takes me off the B846 towards Bridge of Gaur then off into the wilderness to the South of the Loch Eigheach Gaur Reservoir. On the same map, the "Moor of Rannoch Restaurant and Rooms" is shown at the end of the B846, to the North of the reservoir. Perhaps someone could confirm that I should continue on the B846 ?
Here's hoping for a dry day (and that I end up in the right place !).
Looking forward to a nice run - if the sun is shining and I'm ahead of schedule, I may stop off in Pitlochry for an ice cream !

Thanks Keith.

I've just looked at the weather forecast and it doesn't look like there will be much sunshine - or ice cream ! Time to test the waterproofs (again !).

Had a lovely Trip to Loch Rannoch Station Cafe today, I arrived around midday quickly followed by Rob Frankhamr then Gordon gogs01 arrived.
The journey up to the Meet was ok until I missed the Kinloch Rannoch turn and ended up having to turn around!
The chat was varied as usual and after we had finished our lunch Tincan3 Pete arrived with a German Lady in his outfit, more chat ensued again very varied then it starts to pour with rain so we sat a while longer until the rain had stopped.
Midgies were bitting well as we left, I followed Rob to his work shop where we tried to tighten a loose hugger but I ended shearing off a bolt so had to remove it, hey-ho that’s more jobs for my retirement!
Thanks to Rob, Gordon, Pete and his friend for making the Meet more interesting
Regards
Keith

Another great meet. Thanks to Pete, Gordon and Keith, not to mention the aforementioned German lass. Good company and conversation. Not a long run for me, only about 16 miles each way but it's my own fault since I suggested the location (and I did go for a little ride this afternoon to make up for it).

See you all at the next one (if I can make it)...

Yep, another good run and a great get-together.

Showers were the forecast and the forecast was accurate. I took the scenic route via Coupar Angus, Blairgowrie, Bridge of Cally and Kirkmichael on the way to Pitlochry and the A9. A heavy shower there almost persuaded me to stop to don waterproofs, but it too passed and I was almost dry by the time I found Rannoch Station, with Rob and Keith already in attendance.
I'd had my coffee and a toastie before Peter turned up with a delightful German companion, which made a change to the usual dynamic. A pleasant change, so maybe we need to take it in turns to bring a female companion .....
My trip home was almost completely dry and I was home in time to wash the bike before dinner.
A grand day out - thanks gents (and lady). :smt041

Yes, thanks Keith for setting this up - I would probably never have got around to going up Loch Rannoch otherwise. Sorry we were a tad late but it's a long way up that road! Great to see everyone.
Estelle seemed to enjoy her day - only her third in the Highlands. We went back south along Loch Rannoch beside wonderful woods then by way of Glen Lyon and Ben Lawers in dramatic skies but missing any significant rain. Several stops enroute to Oban for photo opportunities such as the falls at Killin, Ben Cruachan pumping station and Highland cattle at Achnacloich. Back in Oban about 19:00 still dry!

Shame you couldn't make it Peter, you really need to have a conversation with your daughter about priorities !
But seriously, hope you enjoyed your day and let's hope you can make it to a future meet.

Ha! No2 daughter currently lives in the Great Wen so safe enough Rob. No1 needed help sanding down a chest she's upcycling. She did bring some tasty home made chocolate cake though. It's her birthday today, so dad was allowed the privilege of buying her and the missus lunch. Speaking of which, if anyone is planning a birl around the Borders, you could do worse than base yourself at the Barony Castle Hotel. They seem to have some decent deals at the moment. https://www.baronycastle.com/offers/sum ... om-credit/
