Lowestoft ... is that a big population centre, or a place where there is a lot of bikers

did they ever leave! As far as I was aware they were in trouble about to shut down but managed to do a deal somewhere with just closing half or so of the stores and kept the others open.... might be wrong, I usually am.

Well if they are back it might be nice this time if they actually stocked the full range. Never had anything big enough for me but staff said larger sizes where available in Germany but UK didn't bother offering them.

No Yasser, you are correct.

The UK company was taken over by Hein Gerrike Germany.. They closed most of the shops, but did keep a few dotted around the country.

Previously it was UK owned.

I'd be glad to see the brand re-appear in the UK.

Decent mid range clothing at acceptable prices I always thought.

Lowestoft, the second most run down area on the south east coast with most folks out of work . I go there a lot to do jobs, and not many motor bike shops around there.

Hi George. The most rundown area in Suffolk/Essex is ????

Jaywick

Lowestoft used to be full of work, then the fishing fleets got laid up (cut up) and the north sea oil boom slowed down. Most of the docks are empty. The only big company still there is Birds Eye.

My "local" used to be Doncaster... with another in Leeds... nearest one after the closures is now Manchester..

Always remembered seeing Si and Dave aka the hairy bikers in HG gear..

Only ever went into the Sheffield branch which is now a pound shop. The own brand HG gear was expensive IIRC and there was not pukka branded gear to compare with/to on quality and price. I'd rather buy discounted known brands from ,say, CMC.

My girlfriend was acting manager for a branch and the treatment she had at the hands of the management and moreso the liquidating agents was horrible

Lucky it was her and not me or they would have come in the door and gone out a window!!!

Whilst I wish anyone who has a shop all the best for the future I suspect they will not do well unless they get some brand names on board..

If anyone is looking gear I can suggest a one man business built up by a bloke that came over here 20 plus years ago I met him when he had a tiny store out by Doagh http://www.modulemoto.co.uk/
