Sena SMH10 bluetooth intercom thing...

Postby farmerboy » Sun Sep 11, 2016 10:56 am

Intercom systems are all new to me but I thought I would give one a try. I have to say I am impressed with what seems to be a great addition to biking pleasure. I have not tried the intercom yet (no friends!) but the music player is fabulous and connects to phone easily. It could do with a bit more bass but otherwise is great quality and I enjoyed a ride back down the M6 last night listening to Pink Floyd! The phone is much better than I expected and calls are clear both ways. The instructions are a bit confusing but I guess most of the features will never be used anyway. The only downside is that the radio app on my phone needs earbuds plugged in for the aerial and therefore will not connect via bluetooth but the headset has a jackplug socket anyway. It is worth the money just to be able to listen to music as I ride along.
Love it.

Could of done with that earlier today, must of been the shortest meet up in history, I spent 45mins at one cafe while George was at the other. ](*,)

oh well you did say John.

It has now been decided that telephone numbers are a good idea.

Yes, I would not go to a meet unless I have a contact number. It is easier than you think to miss someone! Especially frustrating after a long ride. I can now take a phone call whilst riding - who would have thought!!!! Magic....

I like the idea of having the use of the phone on the bike - not that it gets much use.
If I'm travelling with someone else and we lose track of each other it makes it possible to make a call (while stationary of course), or take one, to find out how to meet up again. Saves wondering whether to go back, wait or press on to destination.
Having each other's mobile numbers is a pre-requisite of course.

I agree with the OP and I've used the SMH10 for years with much success although as it has become a little temperamental (wouldn't connect to other riders any longer) I've just upgraded to the 10s.

It's a little early to say as I haven't given it a good test but my early impressions are that it is just as good (hopefully will prove to be better). The phone app for adjusting the settings is certainly an improvement.
