Would there really have been so many watching? They are French after all. :)

I have to admire the horses, they didn't like it much but well trained.

Bad day for those two... But you have to admire these guys... The first one to lift his bike goes to help his brother.

A bit less time bulling up their rather poncey uniforms and a bit more time practicing their biking skills methinks.

Lifted them the wrong way - although as it was live tv I don't blame them for forgetting about the "lifting with your legs method".

Really feel for them - we all drop bikes at some point just not in front of millions of people....

Nothing, not even dropping your bike in front of an international audience of millions and being unable to lift it, can be as embarrassing as having to wear those butt-clenching white pants...

I don't know my other half dropped his bike in a busy German supermarket car park with his hand caught on the horn

In a sort of ' Look at me the mad English man dropping my bike for your entertainment' style

Years ago, we were practicing an escort job for the Queen - 6 on the team, with our Sgt. as the lead. We'd done the route around half a dozen times, the final practice was filmed from the force helicopter. As we swept majestically into one of the local villages en route to Chatsworth, Roy and 2 were at the front, with 4 of us at the rear waiting for him to shout us through. At one end of the village was the primary school - all the kids were out, together with their young and, dare I say it, attractive female teachers, having spotted the helicopter lurking around. My mate Dave couldn't resist a very cool, laid-back, look-at-me wave as we went past  . Except he took his eyes off the road, ran wide on a gentle left-hander and went nose-first into a 5' deep, nettle-infested ditch. The growth in the ditch was so thick that it brought him to a gentle halt, bolt upright, nettles up to his shoulders, with just his head and flashing blue stem-light visible. A classic indeed, and filmed for posterity!

I suppose the ultimate embarrassment would have been splitting his tight white trousers when he lifted his bike to display some impressive skidmarks....

To the tune of the Marseillaise ...

A Gendarme crashed on his 12RT ...

Over to you, gentlemen!
