Phone paired with Nav V

Postby gogs01 » Fri Apr 12, 2019 11:03 pm

I have a Navigator V, a BMW helmet with Bluetooth communicator and a Samsung smart phone.
The communicator and phone are paired with the Nav V and I can hear turn by turn directions. If I receive a phone call, it is shown on the Nav V screen and I hear it ring. The screen gives me the option to answer or dismiss the call, but if I select "answer", I can't hear the caller and the caller can't hear me.
It has all worked in the past, so I must have done something to cause it to stop working - but what ?? Any ideas ??? ](*,)

Microphone securely connected ?

No reason to think otherwise - it used to work.
The microphone not being connected wouldn't explain my not being able to hear the caller - or would it ?

If the controls are the same as the Nav vi, go to ‘volume’, tap the spanner logo, go to ‘audio mixer’, check that ‘phone’ slider is set to be active, then adjust volume as required. If the slider is not blue, then phone is muted.

Incidentally, I found my satnav instructions to be distorted through the headset. Reducing the ‘navigation’ slider from maximum and turning up the volume on the headset cured the problem

Don't know but it's worth checking.

Checked the microphone, all looked OK.

Tried unpairing the phone from the satnav, then paired it again. While doing this, under "paired device" there was an option "Call audio", which was switched off. I switched it on and thought I'd solved the problem. Then I noticed it had switched off again. I don't know why, but it won't stay switched on.

Put the satnav on the bike and headed off for the "Northern Meet" at Loch Katrine. The satnav was working and the phone connected. I was almost at my destination when the phone rang. I hit "answer" and my wife and I were both surprised that we could hear each other ! \:D/

So, I'm not entirely sure what fixed it, but it's fixed !

Thanks for all assistance.
