It's also probably not MOT exempt.

Don’t you just love those painted exhaust threads on the cylinder heads..... yes, they’ll help create a better seal......!

Re: It’s actually up to £4300!
Unless the rear suspension has a lot more 'sag' than it looks like, the angularity of the drive shaft isn't going to help the life of the prop shaft either... but I don't think it would be disqualified from the '40 year rule. There aren't any major changes to the frame or power plant apart from replacement shock absorbers. Making a bike look pug ugly doesn't qualify as a substantial change...Oh How that propshaft is going to eat UJs and vibrate happily along with the standard Knobbly tyres ! :(

Re: It’s actually up to £4300!
As I’m looking for a bike, this came up as one of the cheapest:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-r80-mono ... %7Ciid%3A1
For some reason, I’m not feeling it. Not worried by the mileage, like the model, just not sure. Price is okay and I can change the headlight brackets, spray tank etc, I’m just being hesitant.

I think it will go fairly quickly. You should buy it. Even if you don't like it you will not lose money on it, just a bit of time.

That seems to be all that happens with these half bike sales.
Re: It’s actually up to £4300!
A couple of years ago I saw an absolutely mint R65 in a local dealers.
It was in white + motorsport colours and was apparently a certified special edition done by Gus Kuhn in London back in the day.
I remember at the time thinking £3500 was a bit steep, but boy do I wish I'd snapped it up now.

Now that is, without doubt, one of the worst, most horrible... well words fail! I can't see anything attractive in that at all. It's obscene, an outright offence against public decency (and, by the way, I don't like it!!!)

The only thing about it Rob, is that if I were to build one, it would end up looking like that!

Re: It’s actually up to £4300!
I don't thing anyone on here could commit some of the faux pas that you can see on this bike. With the fuel line run to the right carb, I'm surprised it runs on two cylinders at all (if it does). And to leave the speedo drive port open to atmosphere with no cable, plug or boot is asking to need a new gearbox with a few months. I could go on... and on.... and on. I wouldn't even consider a 'soapbox' made by this butcher. The only thing about it Rob, is that if I were to build one, it would end up looking like that!
