Scottoiler

Postby mobydick » Wed Aug 08, 2018 2:29 pm

Have recently acquired an F60ST and have found a neatly installed Scottoiler under the seat which is empty! Is there a readily available lubricant to use or is their own oil the best? John

I do not have a definitive answer. They say their own doesn't fling as much, but have a read of a few links; here's one for example which doesn't mind gear oil or engine oil:

My bike had a scottloiler already fitted when I got it. I am so impressed, I will use their own.

Thanks John. that link pretty well answered all my questions. Out of interest how thick is the genuine Scott oil, I had assumed it was something like gear oil (SAE90) but using ATF oil is very thin. John

Sorry John, I don’t know.
Before I had this bike, I poo pooed the Scottolier, but that was probably a financial reason, I always used engine oil and then a spray.
But as this was fitted, I take it all back and think it is brilliant.
Because I feel bad for knocking it and no other reason, I will buy their oil.
