Hello all from Yorkshire

Postby mecheng46 » Wed Aug 07, 2019 8:43 pm

Hello all from yorkshire,

I joined the forum today as I have been looking to get an R50 or R60 for a while now. I never had a BM before as I have always been a two stroker (60-70s japanese mainly suzuki). I still have few of these bike but I don't go out on them, this is another reason I am looking to buy a BM, to enjoy some rides around yorkshire :)

I am leaning towards an R60/5 or R60/6 purely for the engine capacity.

it will be much appreciated If anybody has some advice on where is the best place to find a good example at a reasonable price.

Also, any tips on what to look for on these bike, things that go wrong etc

Thanks
Michael

Welcome to the forum. With the twin shock bikes you need to check the rear drive splines (diff to hub) On later mono shock bikes the rear wheel bolts straight onto the diff output shaft. Check out this list.

I had a look and there is only one R60/5 for sale on that website, i will be keeping an eye out there with the hope some more will come available.

What's a reasonable price to pay for such a bike?
