Just starting out

Postby Tom_G » Fri Feb 14, 2020 3:30 pm

Hi All
Ive spent all my biking life on sports bikes. I have recently changed jobs and now work in Derby. Since the traffic is so bad I decided to get a commuter for work and bought a F 800 ST off a friend with 56K on the clock.
The thing is Ive ended up really liking it and have somehow started to tidy it up (spend money in it). Ive had the clutch basket and plates replaced to stop the rattle, I’m in the process of replacing the engine bolts that seem to have really badly rusted and putting an end can on made by Ai6 road and race supplies (typical for me that the link pipe was the wrong type) who are sorting me out a link pipe.
The biggest thing for me thou is that I have booked a trip with a few mates to ride to Germany in June which I would never have done on a sports bike.
No doubt I’ll be asking a few questions in the meantime.
