Rub n Buff

Postby Jon S » Tue Jun 05, 2018 2:45 pm

Having read the recommendations from you clever folks I bought some of the magic silver cream some months ago.
As the day dawned nice and not too hot I thought I'll sort out the tatty looking snowflake wheels on Brunhilde', Mrs JonS is out for the day so why not.
Following a quick scrub down with a stiff nylon brush to get the oxide off the said product was applied using a Mk1 finger wrapped in a clean lint free cloth.
After a couple of hours graft, several cups of coffee, two sore silver plated fingers later, by eck! what a transformation! Those once tatty looking wheels look almost new again

To avoid sore and stained fingers, next time use Mrs JonS's toothbrush.

If Mrs JonS is a fan of the 'Jaws' character in the James Bond films, then she will also be delighted with the similar coloured teeth!

The Pewter colour would do that I expect.

Sometimes I get the temptation to try Gold on the R25/3 engine and gearbox. [-X
