THIS YEARS IRISH RALLY
Apologies to all for the lateness of getting this event up and running but health issues have been getting in the way..
Hopefully I'll have confirmation this evening and, if all goes well, we should be returning to Renvyle. Details and booking forms should be up and available within the next couple of days.

Ah....... was wondering what was going on when I received duplicate booking and payments. System is the same as it has always been George in that everyone gets a copy so you don't need to forward them

Re: THIS YEARS IRISH RALLY
Hi,
as Phil (Boxerman) has a couple of personal issues at the moment, he has asked me to help 'push' the event.
The dates are Fri 14th, Sat 15th and Sun 16th October in the lovely thatched cottages at Tully Cross, Renvyle in Co. Galway on the west coast of Ireland.
Opposite the cottages are two pubs and a hotel, one of which (Paady Coynes) does amazing local food including seafood and lamb and very reasonably priced, how can you resist?
The cottages are thatched and self contained with all 'Mod Cons', including central heating and a petrol station with a very well stocked shop is 3/4 mile away.
Located within the Connemara national park there are some fantastic rides out and terrific scenery as well as Kylemore Abbey and other local attractions, the memorial commemorating Alcock and Brown's (crash) landing after the first transatlantic flight is close by.
All of this for £50 per person, don't forget, you could extend your visit to Ireland by a few days to offset the cost of getting there.
Most people stay in the Holyhead Travelodge on Thursday and Monday nights and use the Stena ferries on Friday and Monday for traversing
the Irish sea, we usually have a group night out on the Saturday night with a meal (not included in the price) and a few drinks - of course!
The Irish folk are very warm and welcoming, great scenery and riding, good food and drink, good accommodation, as they say these days,
'what's not to like'.
If you want any more info, send me a PM or call me on 07973726466.
I'm sure you'd enjoy it!

One of my favourite club meet ups, will be sad to miss it. For any one still contemplating it and not been before, its a great weekend. Great company and value for money, the pubs do great food, the cottages are lovely and the scenery amazing.

Re: THIS YEARS IRISH RALLY
Hi all,
Just want to add my two pennies worth to Nick's promo of this year's Irish event. If you haven't been before you'd do well to consider it as its a fantastic location with the best food ever right on your cottage doorstep. Not only that but the scenery is unique to this part of Ireland and can be very atmospheric at this time of year. The sceptical among you might read that last description and think, yeah it'll be wet and windy, well there could be a little wind or a drop of rain but it could just as easily be glorious sunshine and any way what are roaring cottage fires for.
See you there.
Steve.

Re: THIS YEARS IRISH RALLY
Well this years rally at Tully Cross on the Renvyle peninsular has now been and gone and although numbers were down to 10 it was still a great weekend for those who could make it. Overall the weather was kind, not cold with sunshine and a few showers so rides out on Saturday and Sunday were enjoyable. Paddy Coynes did us proud for the group meal on Saturday evening, gourmet food at a takeaway price and not to be out done Nick CT's Pasta Bolognese was just the best for the Sunday meal. Only thing to spoil the weekend was a fall by my riding partner and long time mate Nick Jackson late on Sunday afternoon on a treacherous diesel soaked bend only 1/4 mile from our cottages. Pleased to report that bike and rider will mend. Thanks to Phil for organising it, only sorry you couldn't make it this year, so here's to next year.

A good turnout!
Glad the weather was reasonably good!
Hope Nick mends quickly - I find I don't bounce as well as I used to!

Re: THIS YEARS IRISH RALLY
Thanks to all for your good wishes, my ribs and arm are bruised but it's getting easier now.
Got a battle scarred fairing panel but at least it was rideable - could have been an awful lot worse, the dented ego might take a little longer to heal!
Diesel doesn't take prisoners and I was only doing about 25mph, so I can't even put it down to over enthusiasm.
Thanks again,
