Yorkshire Lunch Meetings 2020

Postby P-K » Thu Oct 31, 2019 1:11 pm

Hi people,
My usual review of the monthly Yorkshire lunch meetings, before I set up the list for next year.
Anyone have any extra venues they'd like to suggest ?
Anyone have a current venue we should drop ?
What about the Sunday meetings, are they attended, is it worth continuing ?
All views are valid and up for discussion.

Hi Phil although I missed many of this years meets I'll put my six penney in!!!
How about a new venue The Water wheel at Howden. Gets good reviews from other groups who use it I have never been though. Maybe our Eastern members have a view?
I still like Beadlam Farm shop!
Lord stones a good one.
Some are using the Gliding Club at the top of Sutton Bank.
Although some have requested southern meets I think the one you put on was very poorly attended. Not sure if it is worth trying again?

Having been to the Waterwheel at Howden with the ‘other club’, I personally am not so sure about it. The car park is excellent and if the weather is fine the outside seating is good but the indoor seating is tables of four only. Additionally, the food now seems to lean towards cooked lunches only, with little choice of snacks or light lunches.
Just my view- others may have a different view of course.

I recommend:

The Fiddle Drill, Manor Farm, Main Street, Goodmanham YO43 3JA. I went there earlier this year and everyone in the group thought that it was excellent. It's about 1.5 miles from Market Weighton.

Another one we visited was also rated highly - The Old Barn Coffee Shop, Balk, Near Bagby, Thirsk, North Yorkshire, YO7 2AQ
