Hi
prompted by spots loss (I have not done it myself YET)

Write your phone number in a place that can not be seen when the pannier is on the bike both inside and outside the pannier. Then when it is found some kind soul MAY ring you to tell you they have it

Embedded in the front of their car? Sometimes it is better not to be able to trace these things

Maybe make it a mobile number then judge how the conversations going before giving out any more details :)
