R1200R luggage rack

Postby saxhead » Tue Oct 08, 2019 6:43 pm

I'm looking for a BMW original rack for my 2006 R1200R roadster. The bike came fitted with BMW panniers which I want to keep, but I do need a rear rack and topcase as well, and the only way to do that it appears, is to fit the full original BMW rack. Unfortunately the most likely source, BMW Motorrad Bohling, doesn't stock the rack for the pre 2011 bikes any longer. Does anyone have any ideas where else I could be looking? Or can the post-2011 rack be adapted to fit?

I'm new to BMW ownership and the sources for equipment seem vast and confusing to a newbie!

Huge thanks in advance.

Hi Bill.

Motorworks have got one listed for £95 - http://www.motorworks.co.uk/vlive/Shop/ ... 0&spPage=3. If the link doesn't go to it, search for LUE99528 on their website.

Check the Givi site.
They definitely do a rack for the 1100R that can be used with the BMW panniers so most likely they'll do one for your 1200.

Great, hope you get sorted.

If you've not already found them, other sources for parts, both new and used, are here -

http://www.james-sherlock.co.uk/
https://www.motobins.co.uk/
https://www.nippynormans.com/
https://www.sportouring.co.uk/

And RealOEM is very good for finding original part numbers, as well as showing you exploded diagrams of various parts of your bike - just put your VIN number in the box to get parts specific to your bike.

Another version of it here, bit prettier to look at!

Thanks for the links - still drawing a blank unfortunately but at least I can register with these guys for when the right part does appear - and there are a whole load of other nice goodies I can browse!
